What is Myotherapy?

Myotherapy is a form of physical therapy, it is the comprehensive assessment, treatment and management of musculoskeletal disorders and conditions that result from improper posture,
poor biomechanics and injury.

A physical evaluation and an integrated therapeutic approach is used to assess and treat affected muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, nerves and connective tissue using mostly hands on techniques in the treatment of acute and chronic conditions. Myotherapists detect and treat the CAUSE of your pain and dysfunction, which in most cases refers symptoms to other areas of the body.

Assessment/ testing includes the following:

  • Thorough patient history
  • Postural assessment
  • Range of motion testing
  • Clinical orthopedic tests
  • Palpation of muscles, joints and ligaments
